Bottom Line:   Economic factors and the long-term nature of cabling solutions point to a rapid transition to Category 6. As the price differential between Category 6 and Category 5e continues to decline, Category 6 becomes a more attractive alternative. By 2003, 90 percent of all new enterprise copper cabling installations will be based on Category 6 (0.8 probability).
